Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide marble ghisai in Ghaziabad?
Yes. We provide marble ghisai, grinding followed by polishing, across Ghaziabad for houses, builder floors, apartments and offices. The floor is inspected first, and we tell you whether it needs full grinding or polishing alone.
My house has very old marble flooring. Can it still be restored?
Often, yes. Each grinding takes off only a very thin layer, so marble flooring can usually be ground and polished again over its life. The inspection checks the condition, past wear and any cracks or hollow-sounding slabs first. If part of the floor cannot be brought back fully, you hear that before work starts.
How do I know if my floor needs grinding or only polishing?
Run a fingernail across the scratches and feel the joints between slabs. Scratches that catch your nail, raised edges and dull paths that stay dull after cleaning usually point to grinding. A level floor with a faded but even shine may need polishing alone. Photos on WhatsApp give a first view; the inspection confirms it.
Do you polish marble in offices and shops in Ghaziabad?
Yes. The process is the same inspection-first approach. For a commercial space we also agree the timing with you, so that the work can be planned around your opening hours where possible.
How much does marble ghisai cost?
Marble ghisai is priced per square foot, and the final price depends on the stone, its condition, the area and which techniques the floor actually needs. A floor that only needs polishing costs less than one that needs grinding first. That is why the price is confirmed after photos on WhatsApp or an inspection, not quoted blind.
How do you decide which technique my floor needs?
Every floor is inspected first — the right combination of techniques depends on your stone type and its current condition, not a fixed universal process.
Is Silicate Polishing better than other techniques?
It is a premium option, but the best technique always depends on your specific stone type and floor condition — we will recommend honestly after inspection.
How long does the process take?
This depends on the size of the area and the floor condition — we confirm a timeline after inspection.

Know the terms

Marble Ghisai, Grinding and Polishing: What Is the Difference?

The three words are often used as if they mean the same thing. They describe different stages of the work, and knowing which one your floor needs is the best way to judge any quote, including ours. Ghisai is also called marble ki ghisai, sangmarmar ghisai or simply floor ghisai, and on granite, Kota stone and mosaic or terrazzo floors the same machine work is usually known as patthar ghisai; we work on all of these stones.

  • Marble ghisai

Ghisai, literally "rubbing", is the everyday name for machine grinding and polishing of a marble floor. A rotary machine fitted with abrasive stones or diamond pads works the floor with water, starting coarse and finishing fine. When people ask for ghisai they usually mean the whole job, not only a final buff.

  • Marble grinding

Grinding is the cutting stage. Coarse diamond abrasives remove a very thin layer of the surface, taking scratches, worn paths and old patchy polish with it, and bringing slightly raised slab edges level. It makes deep restoration possible, and it is only needed when the floor's condition calls for it.

  • Marble polishing

Polishing works on a surface that is already flat and sound. Progressively finer abrasives build the gloss back, and where the stone suits it, crystallisation or a sealer adds protection. A floor that has simply lost its shine may need polishing alone.

Does Your Floor Need Grinding?

Signs a floor may need grinding first

  • Scratches that catch your fingernail
  • Raised edges between slabs, or joints you can feel underfoot
  • Dull walkways at doors, in front of sofas and in the kitchen
  • Etch marks from lemon, vinegar or harsh cleaners that polishing has not removed
  • A cloudy, yellowed or patchy top layer left by old polish jobs or coatings

When polishing alone may be enough

  • The floor is level and the joints are flush
  • The shine has faded but scratches are light and on the surface
  • The floor was properly restored before and needs maintenance, not a reset

These are signs, not a diagnosis. Stone type, hardness and current condition decide the treatment, which is why every floor is inspected before a technique is chosen. Grinding is recommended only where the floor needs it. Some stains sit inside the stone rather than on it, and if a mark will not come out we say so before work starts. Depending on the stone and its condition, the job can also include stain removal, scratch removal, crack and hole filling, and edge polishing; how far a stain, scratch or crack can be improved is confirmed at the inspection.

Marble Polishing in Ghaziabad Homes: What to Expect

Ghaziabad spans a wide mix of established residential colonies and newer developments, meaning floor conditions here range from long-neglected marble needing full restoration to recently laid tiles needing their first deep clean. An on-site inspection tells us which your property needs.

Ghaziabad has two very different kinds of marble floor. Older family homes and builder floors often have Indian marble laid decades ago, polished many times since, and now dull, uneven or discoloured in places. Newer apartments in townships such as Raj Nagar Extension and Crossing Republik have much younger floors, where the problems are handover marks, light scratches and joints that were never levelled properly.

That difference decides the job. An older floor is where full ghisai, grinding first and polishing after, most often earns its cost. A newer floor frequently needs far less, and the inspection will tell you so.

Common marble floor problems in Ghaziabad homes

  • Worn paths, patchy shine

Years of foot traffic wear the shine off in paths: the entrance, the sofa area, the route to the kitchen. Corners still look fine, so the floor looks patchy. An even finish usually means grinding those paths back to match before polishing the whole floor.

  • Uneven slabs in older floors

Hand-laid floors often have slabs at slightly different heights. You feel it barefoot and see it as broken reflections, and dirt collects along the raised edges. Grinding is the way to bring those edges flush.

  • Cloudy or yellowed old polish

Repeated quick polish jobs and coatings can leave a cloudy, yellowish top layer. Grinding removes it so the stone itself is polished, not the layer on top. Where the colour change is inside the stone, we tell you what can and cannot improve.

When to book: Common moments are before Diwali or a family function, before moving into a resale home, and between tenants. Grinding means machines, water and furniture moved out of the room, so leave a few days of margin before any event rather than booking the same week.
