Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Noida Extension covered under Greater Noida?
Yes. Noida Extension is the popular name for Greater Noida West, which comes under the Greater Noida authority. We provide marble polishing and ghisai across Greater Noida West as well as Greater Noida's sectors.
Should I get marble polishing done before moving into a new flat?
If you can, yes. An empty flat is easier and quicker to work in, and handover issues such as uneven joints and cement haze are simpler to fix before furniture goes in. The inspection tells you whether the floor needs grinding or just polishing.
Do you polish marble in villas and independent houses in Greater Noida?
Yes, including large living areas, staircases and granite surfaces. Bigger homes take longer, so the inspection covers the area, stairs and edges before you are given a timeline.
Can marble ghisai remove deep scratches?
Grinding removes scratches by taking the surface down below them, so most scratches can be removed. Very deep gouges, chips or cracks may need filling as a separate repair first. You are shown which marks will go and which will not before work starts.
How much does marble ghisai cost?
Marble ghisai is priced per square foot, and the final price depends on the stone, its condition, the area and which techniques the floor actually needs. A floor that only needs polishing costs less than one that needs grinding first. That is why the price is confirmed after photos on WhatsApp or an inspection, not quoted blind.
How do you decide which technique my floor needs?
Every floor is inspected first — the right combination of techniques depends on your stone type and its current condition, not a fixed universal process.
Is Silicate Polishing better than other techniques?
It is a premium option, but the best technique always depends on your specific stone type and floor condition — we will recommend honestly after inspection.
How long does the process take?
This depends on the size of the area and the floor condition — we confirm a timeline after inspection.

Know the terms

Marble Ghisai, Grinding and Polishing: What Is the Difference?

The three words are often used as if they mean the same thing. They describe different stages of the work, and knowing which one your floor needs is the best way to judge any quote, including ours. Ghisai is also called marble ki ghisai, sangmarmar ghisai or simply floor ghisai, and on granite, Kota stone and mosaic or terrazzo floors the same machine work is usually known as patthar ghisai; we work on all of these stones.

  • Marble ghisai

Ghisai, literally "rubbing", is the everyday name for machine grinding and polishing of a marble floor. A rotary machine fitted with abrasive stones or diamond pads works the floor with water, starting coarse and finishing fine. When people ask for ghisai they usually mean the whole job, not only a final buff.

  • Marble grinding

Grinding is the cutting stage. Coarse diamond abrasives remove a very thin layer of the surface, taking scratches, worn paths and old patchy polish with it, and bringing slightly raised slab edges level. It makes deep restoration possible, and it is only needed when the floor's condition calls for it.

  • Marble polishing

Polishing works on a surface that is already flat and sound. Progressively finer abrasives build the gloss back, and where the stone suits it, crystallisation or a sealer adds protection. A floor that has simply lost its shine may need polishing alone.

Does Your Floor Need Grinding?

Signs a floor may need grinding first

  • Scratches that catch your fingernail
  • Raised edges between slabs, or joints you can feel underfoot
  • Dull walkways at doors, in front of sofas and in the kitchen
  • Etch marks from lemon, vinegar or harsh cleaners that polishing has not removed
  • A cloudy, yellowed or patchy top layer left by old polish jobs or coatings

When polishing alone may be enough

  • The floor is level and the joints are flush
  • The shine has faded but scratches are light and on the surface
  • The floor was properly restored before and needs maintenance, not a reset

These are signs, not a diagnosis. Stone type, hardness and current condition decide the treatment, which is why every floor is inspected before a technique is chosen. Grinding is recommended only where the floor needs it. Some stains sit inside the stone rather than on it, and if a mark will not come out we say so before work starts. Depending on the stone and its condition, the job can also include stain removal, scratch removal, crack and hole filling, and edge polishing; how far a stain, scratch or crack can be improved is confirmed at the inspection.

Local know-how

Marble Polishing Across Greater Noida and Greater Noida West

As one of Delhi NCR's newer planned developments, Greater Noida has a high concentration of relatively recent marble and tile flooring — often still in good condition but increasingly in need of professional maintenance as buildings age. We tailor our process to that stage of wear.

Greater Noida is really two places when it comes to floors. The planned sectors around Pari Chowk, such as Alpha and Beta, have independent houses and villas, often with large marble areas and staircases, along with offices and institutions around Knowledge Park. Greater Noida West, still widely called Noida Extension, is mostly high-rise societies, many of them handed over in recent years. It comes under the Greater Noida authority, which is why it is covered on this page.

A villa with large living areas and stairs is a different job from a two-bedroom flat. Both start the same way: an inspection of the stone and its condition before any technique is chosen.

Common marble floor problems in Greater Noida

  • Possession-stage marble

Flats in newer societies are often handed over with marble that has had only a basic polish: cement haze, uneven joints and patchy shine. Grinding the joints flush and polishing evenly gives the floor a proper first finish, and it is easiest before furniture goes in.

  • Grit from ongoing construction

With construction still active in many parts of Greater Noida West, fine dust is tracked inside every day. It dulls a floor quickly and leaves fine scratches. Light scratching can usually be polished out; mats at the entrance help afterwards.

  • Large areas, stairs and edges

Bigger homes in the sector areas mean larger floors, staircases, skirting edges and sometimes granite alongside marble. Each surface is handled differently, and all of it is planned from one inspection.

When to book: Before moving in is the easiest time: the home is empty, and joints can be levelled before furniture covers them. For villas and larger homes, allow more days for the job and plan around any function at home.
