Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide marble ghisai and grinding in Noida apartments?
Yes, in apartments, independent houses and offices across Noida. Grinding is done only where the floor needs it. The inspection decides that, not a fixed package.
My society restricts machine work. Can the job still be done?
Tell us your society's rules on working hours and machine work when you book, so the inspection and schedule can be planned around them. If work has to stop at a fixed time each day, the job may take more days, and we tell you that upfront.
Can uneven joints in a new flat's marble floor be fixed?
Small height differences between slabs can usually be ground flush, which also removes the dark lines that collect along raised edges. Larger differences, or slabs that sound hollow or move, need re-fixing first. We check for these at the inspection.
Will grinding make a mess of my flat?
Grinding is usually done wet. That keeps dust down but creates slurry, so the room needs clearing and nearby surfaces need protecting. What to move and what to cover is discussed at the inspection, before any work starts.
How much does marble ghisai cost?
Marble ghisai is priced per square foot, and the final price depends on the stone, its condition, the area and which techniques the floor actually needs. A floor that only needs polishing costs less than one that needs grinding first. That is why the price is confirmed after photos on WhatsApp or an inspection, not quoted blind.
How do you decide which technique my floor needs?
Every floor is inspected first — the right combination of techniques depends on your stone type and its current condition, not a fixed universal process.
Is Silicate Polishing better than other techniques?
It is a premium option, but the best technique always depends on your specific stone type and floor condition — we will recommend honestly after inspection.
How long does the process take?
This depends on the size of the area and the floor condition — we confirm a timeline after inspection.

Know the terms

Marble Ghisai, Grinding and Polishing: What Is the Difference?

The three words are often used as if they mean the same thing. They describe different stages of the work, and knowing which one your floor needs is the best way to judge any quote, including ours. Ghisai is also called marble ki ghisai, sangmarmar ghisai or simply floor ghisai, and on granite, Kota stone and mosaic or terrazzo floors the same machine work is usually known as patthar ghisai; we work on all of these stones.

  • Marble ghisai

Ghisai, literally "rubbing", is the everyday name for machine grinding and polishing of a marble floor. A rotary machine fitted with abrasive stones or diamond pads works the floor with water, starting coarse and finishing fine. When people ask for ghisai they usually mean the whole job, not only a final buff.

  • Marble grinding

Grinding is the cutting stage. Coarse diamond abrasives remove a very thin layer of the surface, taking scratches, worn paths and old patchy polish with it, and bringing slightly raised slab edges level. It makes deep restoration possible, and it is only needed when the floor's condition calls for it.

  • Marble polishing

Polishing works on a surface that is already flat and sound. Progressively finer abrasives build the gloss back, and where the stone suits it, crystallisation or a sealer adds protection. A floor that has simply lost its shine may need polishing alone.

Does Your Floor Need Grinding?

Signs a floor may need grinding first

  • Scratches that catch your fingernail
  • Raised edges between slabs, or joints you can feel underfoot
  • Dull walkways at doors, in front of sofas and in the kitchen
  • Etch marks from lemon, vinegar or harsh cleaners that polishing has not removed
  • A cloudy, yellowed or patchy top layer left by old polish jobs or coatings

When polishing alone may be enough

  • The floor is level and the joints are flush
  • The shine has faded but scratches are light and on the surface
  • The floor was properly restored before and needs maintenance, not a reset

These are signs, not a diagnosis. Stone type, hardness and current condition decide the treatment, which is why every floor is inspected before a technique is chosen. Grinding is recommended only where the floor needs it. Some stains sit inside the stone rather than on it, and if a mark will not come out we say so before work starts. Depending on the stone and its condition, the job can also include stain removal, scratch removal, crack and hole filling, and edge polishing; how far a stain, scratch or crack can be improved is confirmed at the inspection.

Local know-how

Marble Polishing in Noida Apartments, Houses and Offices

Noida's fast-growing residential sectors are home to a large share of newer marble and tile installations, alongside older sector properties where floors have seen years of regular wear. Whatever the age of your flooring, we assess it in person before choosing a restoration approach.

Much of Noida lives in apartment societies, alongside independent houses in the older sectors and offices and showrooms in commercial hubs such as Sector 18 and Sector 62. In flats a few years old, wear shows first in the busiest paths and around the kitchen. Older sector homes may have marble that has been polished several times and has lost its flatness.

In an apartment the practical side matters as much as the technique: society working hours, lift use, and where the water and slurry from wet grinding will go. Mention your society's rules when you book so they can be factored into the plan.

Common marble floor problems in Noida

  • A handover finish that never looked right

New flats are often handed over with marble that was laid and given a quick polish, leaving visible joints, slight height differences and cement haze. A proper grind and polish is often the first real finish the floor gets.

  • Fine scratches from dust and grit

Dust from roads and nearby construction gets carried indoors, and grit under shoes acts like sandpaper. Light scratching can often be polished out; deeper scratching needs grinding first. Door mats slow it down afterwards.

  • Water marks and etching

Lemon, vinegar and harsh cleaners etch marble, and hard water can leave white marks on floors that are mopped often. Light marks may polish out. Etched, rough patches usually need honing or grinding before they will shine again.

When to book: Good times are before moving into a new or resale flat, after interior work is finished, or before re-letting. An empty home is the easiest to work in. If your society needs advance permission for machine work, apply early so the booking is not delayed.
